As Wānaka’s only ski-specific tuning workshop, our Powder Tune is expertly handcrafted to optimise your skis for deep snow performance, ensuring effortless float and smooth glide in fresh powder and variable off-piste conditions. This specialised tuning service focuses on enhancing your skis’ ability to stay light and responsive in soft snow, allowing you to explore backcountry terrain with confidence and ease. Every ski is meticulously tuned by hand, combining precise edge beveling, tailored base structuring, and premium waxing designed to maximise performance in powder conditions unique to the Wānaka alpine environment. What’s included in the Powder Tune? 1. Custom Edge Beveling: Hand-tuned edges with a slightly reduced bevel angle to improve ski forgiveness and maneuverability in soft snow, while maintaining enough grip for variable conditions. 2. Specialised Base Structuring: Micro-structure is expertly crafted by hand to minimise drag and maximise glide in powder and soft snow, enhancing your ski’s float and smoothness. 3. High-Performance Hot Wax: A deep-penetrating wax formula, selected specifically for powder and cold, dry snow conditions, is applied and hand-rubbed to seal the base and maintain glide over extended periods. 4. Detailed Inspection: We carefully check for any base or edge damage, ensuring your skis are ready to perform at their best in challenging powder terrain. Cancellation Policy
All tuning is by appointment with a standard 24–48 hr turnaround. Need it faster? Select Express Turnaround ($15) at checkout. Pick-up & Drop-off ($25) is available within Wānaka. If selected, please provide your full address. Express is not included and must be added separately. A valid credit or debit card is required to book. Your card won’t be charged until after service or if a cancellation/no-show fee applies. Payment is due on completion. We accept cash, bank transfer, or mobile payment. Add-ons are added to your final invoice. You’ll receive a confirmation email with service details. Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hrs in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 50% of the service fee. All gear is inspected before tuning. We’ll contact you if any extra work is needed. Not liable for pre-existing damage. Ski-only workshop. No snowboard tuning. Splitboard riders — get in touch to see if your setup qualifies.
