As Wānaka’s only ski-specific tuning workshop, our Groom Tune is a premium handcrafted service designed to optimise your skis for smooth, precise performance on groomed runs and packed alpine snow. Perfect for skiers who spend most of their time carving groomers and hitting groomed trails, the Groom Tune focuses on sharpening your edge hold, enhancing glide, and delivering consistent control. Every ski is carefully tuned by hand using expert race-proven techniques tailored to the unique snow conditions around Wānaka, so you can ski with confidence and fluidity. What’s included in the Groom Tune? 1. Precision Edge Beveling: Expertly hand-sharpened edges with a focus on sharpness and durability for reliable grip and crisp turns on hard-packed snow and ice. 2. Custom Base Structuring: Handcrafted micro-structure to reduce friction and improve glide on groomed surfaces, optimising speed and smoothness. 3. High-Quality Hot Wax: Applied and rubbed in by hand, this wax is tailored for groomed snow conditions to keep your skis fast and protected throughout the day. 4. Thorough Inspection: We examine each ski closely to detect any base damage or edge wear and recommend repairs if necessary to keep your skis performing at their peak. Machine tunes often overdo it — they can strip too much material or leave harsh, uneven edges. Our Groom Tune focuses on precision and finesse, giving you a ride that feels controlled, smooth, and just right for everyday resort conditions. Whether you’re carving at Cardrona, lapping TC, or cruising with family, this tune keeps your gear dialled and your turns flowing. 💡 Optional Add-Ons (select during booking): ⚡ Express Turnaround — $15 Need your skis tuned same-day before hitting the groomers? Choose Express Turnaround during booking for faster service. 🚚 Pick-up & Drop-off Service — $25 Short on time? Let us collect your skis and deliver them tuned and ready to go.
Cancellation Policy
All tuning is by appointment with a standard 24–48 hr turnaround. Need it faster? Select Express Turnaround ($15) at checkout. Pick-up & Drop-off ($25) is available within Wānaka. If selected, please provide your full address. Express is not included and must be added separately. A valid credit or debit card is required to book. Your card won’t be charged until after service or if a cancellation/no-show fee applies. Payment is due on completion. We accept cash, bank transfer, or mobile payment. Add-ons are added to your final invoice. You’ll receive a confirmation email with service details. Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hrs in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 50% of the service fee. All gear is inspected before tuning. We’ll contact you if any extra work is needed. Not liable for pre-existing damage. Ski-only workshop. No snowboard tuning. Splitboard riders — get in touch to see if your setup qualifies.
