As Wānaka’s only ski-specific tuning workshop, this handcrafted service is designed for skiers and riders heading beyond the resort boundaries. Whether you're chasing powder stashes, navigating technical lines, or prepping for a multi-day hut trip — every detail of this tune is engineered for performance in unpredictable alpine terrain. Each ski is tuned entirely by hand using race-informed techniques tailored to backcountry travel: 1. Precision Edge Beveling — For dependable grip on icy skintracks and steep descents. 2. Custom Base Structuring — Versatile textures that glide across cold powder, wind crust, and spring slush. 3. Durable Hot Waxing — Waxed by hand for maximum efficiency and consistent glide in variable temps. 4. Gear Inspection — A full visual check for delams, edge wear, or hidden damage — critical before big missions. We’ll collect and return your setup — tuned, waxed, and ready. 🔧 Exclusive Backcountry Add-Ons: 🔧 Splitboard Clip & Hardware Tune — $30 Check tension, retighten touring hardware, and tune contact points for better ride feel and reliability in split mode. 🫳 Skin Glue Check & Re-glue Service — $45 Restore grip with a thorough clean and re-glue — a must for spring conditions or aging skins. 📋 Touring Gear Health Check — $35 We’ll inspect your full setup — bindings, boots, skins, poles, and avalanche gear — for wear or faults. Ideal before remote trips or overnighters.
Cancellation Policy
All tuning is by appointment with a standard 24–48 hr turnaround. Need it faster? Select Express Turnaround ($15) at checkout. Pick-up & Drop-off ($25) is available within Wānaka. If selected, please provide your full address. Express is not included and must be added separately. A valid credit or debit card is required to book. Your card won’t be charged until after service or if a cancellation/no-show fee applies. Payment is due on completion. We accept cash, bank transfer, or mobile payment. Add-ons are added to your final invoice. You’ll receive a confirmation email with service details. Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hrs in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged 50% of the service fee. All gear is inspected before tuning. We’ll contact you if any extra work is needed. Not liable for pre-existing damage. Ski-only workshop. No snowboard tuning. Splitboard riders — get in touch to see if your setup qualifies.
